Kazakh PM resigns
ASTANA, January 8 (RIA Novosti) – Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Danial Akhmetov has resigned, a government official said Monday.
Under Kazakhstan's legislation, a premier's departure means resignation of the entire government.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev has accepted the resignation and is now expected to submit a replacement candidacy to a joint session of both houses of parliament January 10.
Akhmetov, 52, was in the premier's office since June 2003.
