UES posts $658 million profit in 1H07

MOSCOW, August 1 (RIA Novosti) – Russia's electricity monopoly posted a net profit of 16.8 billion rubles ($658 million) in the first half of 2007, up 36% against 12 billion rubles ($470 million) in the same period last year, the company said Wednesday.
