U.S. Senate approves $650 bln defense budget for 2008

WASHINGTON, October 2 (RIA Novosti) – The U.S. Senate approved a defense bill of $648.8 billion Monday, which includes $225 million for the deployment of missile defense systems in Central Europe, 27% less than requested.
