Sochi - Russia's Biggest Building Site

After the fanfare extolling Russia's victory in the race to host the 2014 Winter Olympics subsided, one thing became clear: the hosts will have very little time to accomplish great plans in the run-up to the Games. Over the next six years, Russia has to build the nation's largest sport center in compliance with the finest international standards. The Russian government has adopted a special federal program with an aggregate budget of around $12 billion. Of this, $7.3 billion will be provided from the federal budget, $400 million by the Krasnodar province and the Sochi authorities, while the remaining $4.3 billion will be provided from private sources. >>
